On January 16 and 17, the M13 meeting of the FFLECS Project took place in London, hosted at the premises of Imperial College. The meeting highlighted important progress in the various tasks of the project, with obvious advances in the development of the two hydrogen-SAF combustor concepts selected (CHAIRLIFT – Compact Helical Arranged combustoRs with lean LIFTed flames and LEAFINNOX – Lean Azimuthal Flame), thanks to dedicated CFD and experimental investigations. Also relevant are the ongoing supporting studies related to numerical and experimental characterization of particulate emissions and the use of electrical and electromagnetic fields to control flame stability and fuel atomization.
